Tutu Dress Tutorial

Supplies:
scissors
measuring tape
5-6 in crochet band (bought mine at thehairbowcompany.com)
35 yrds of tulle 6 inch wide (I bought rolls of it at Hobby Lobby)
Any ribbon or flowers you would like to use for embellishments (optional)

1)Cut your tulle into 20 in strips to make a 10 in tutu. You will need about 30-35 strips.

2) For ease of working with your stretchy band place around a full roll of paper towels. Take 2 strips of your tulle, fold in half and pull through one of the holes in the bottom of the band to create a loop. Do not pull all the way through! (I use two strips for a fluffier tutu)

3)Pull the ends of the tulle strips through the loop to create a slip knot. Do not pull too tight or tug on tulle too much or it will lose it fluff.

4)Continue all the way around until the tutu is complete.

From here the possibilities are endless. Tie more tulle on the top or sew on ribbon for straps. Slip knot a cute ribbon in the front to create a halter strap. Glue flowers or tie bows around the top of the tutu for pretty accents. It's all up to you! Now go have some fun making this fun simple tutu dress!
